The snacks I go to for busy days at the office and lounging on the weekend.
Hi there homies! I’m coming at you today with my favorite guilt-free snacks. I’ve said it before but I eat certain snacks on certain days. I don’t know why, I’m just very habitual, I suppose. Like no joke…
Monday – Smart Bar
Tuesday – Quest or RX Bar
Wednesday – Almonds or Pumpkin Seeds
Thursday – Quest or RX Bar
Friday – Almonds or Lara Bar or Energy Balls
Saturday – Trail mix with a cup of boom chicka pop, or if I’m out some type of bar
Sunday – Smart Bar
It’s kind of a weird, I know. This schedule of mine has changed a bit over time, but generally it’s the same.
Of course these aren’t my only snacks throughout the week, they are just my “planned” ones. I try to keep myself from eating alllll day long, but if you know me you know I can’t go more than 2 hours without eating something.
You do not want to see me with low blood sugar. Whenever I’m out and about all day or traveling, my mom’s favorite line is “do we need to get you something to eat?” That’s her nice way of saying, you’re being a b. Whoops 🙃 hahah
Anyway let’s jump into my list of guilt-free goodies, whether it’s for something on the go, something to snack on before a workout or something that I secretly eat in the pantry.
Bars: if you haven’t checked out my go to bars post, I list out a couple of my favorites and where to get them the cheapest. At the top of my list are: RX bar, Lara bar, Quest bar, and Smart bar.
Hard Boiled Eggs: I take them to work for mid-morning snack and the leftovers I have at the end of the week and make egg salad or have them on avocado toast for breakfast.
Pretzels: I buy these every now and again. I like to just snack on them while I’m waiting for a meal to cook. My favorite gluten free brands are live gfree and synders.
Veggies and Hummus: this is my go-to summer snack. I prep some veggies at the beginning of every week and munch on them until they are gone. I’ve been trying to take a whole bag to work, so I can eat them instead of other carby processed foods, but sometimes I just need a handful of cheerios. Yano?
Air Popped Popcorn / Boom Chicka Pop: popcorn is my kryptonite. I’m not going to lie, I have popcorn almost every night. Usually I’m good for the first half of the week, but by Wednesday I’m probably having a cup or two before bed. Luckily it’s pretty low cal (30 cals per cup).
Sea Salt Crackers: I’m game for any multigrain sea salt cracker. It’s a frequent lunch side dish for me.
Almonds / Trail Mix: you all know how I feel about nuts. I just started eating sea salt almonds again, and man do I love them, as you can see them make my afternoon snack line up twice a week.
Grapes: the perfect palate cleanser. I have grapes or some other fruit after lunch and dinner, it’s like dessert 🙂
Justin’s PB Cups / Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate PB Cups: the post grapes dessert. Most of the times, I tell myself I’m going to just have grapes for dessert, then while I’m putting dinner away I sneak into the pantry to have a Justin’s or Trader Joe’s PB cup. I try to eat it before Nick sees me, because then he’ll want one too. 😒
Not Pictured:
Energy Balls: if we have balls in the house, they are gone in a week’s time. They are my pre and/or post workout snack and sometimes even my dessert. 😏
Halo Top Ice Cream: would you believe me if I told you I used to eat a homemade malt every night when I was a kid? My dad made the best and there was no shame. I’m glad I have a healthier alternative now. Halo Top is the bomb. If you haven’t tried it, buy some tonight. Nick is even more obsessed them me and I have to write our names on each pint so he stays out of mine. (favorite flavor: salted caramel)
Green Smoothie: these are my weekend jam. Whatever I’m doing, I can take it with me and it only takes 5 minutes to make. Plus loaded with the green goods to replenish me after a good workout!
What makes your top snack list?
