Treat your friends and family to these two easy and delicious dips for any occasion!
Hi there 🙂 As summer comes to an end, it’s time to use up all those fresh garden goods! Luckily, I have the perfect recipes for doing just that. Grab a cutting board, a knife and two bowls, because it’s about to get spiiicyyy up in here! 💃🏻💃🏻
These are my two favorite dips. They are super simple, use all real ingredients and can be added to anything and everything. Plus who doesn’t love chips and dip?!
Wow I can’t believe it’s already September. Do I start every blog post like this? Because it sure feels like it. Time really does fly when you’re having fun 🙂 This is my favorite season. I love the cool weather, tailgating, seat heaters, boots, the whole sha-bang! I’m trying to enjoy every moment of it that I can before it turns into a winter wonderland.
We have a few months until then, but I did start brainstorming some fall/winter recipes already 😉 of which I will be making in my NEW HOUSE!!! 😬🏡 Nick and I are very excited. We’ve already started planning out furniture and paint colors, but I’m mostly obsessed with the kitchen. Lots of cupboards, a walk in pantry and did I mention 4 fridges?! Lol I will be in heaven. We move in in the middle of October and it will hopefully be our last move in many many years!
The best part of the house is the bar in the basement, which will be great for entertaining! I can’t wait to get all crock pots goin’ and drinks a flowin’! Plus these amazing dips! Homemade Guac and Pico de Gallo. 🥑🍅🌶
Let’s start with the guacamole. 5 ingredients. 5 minutes. That’s all you need! It’s fresh, thick and creamy, perfect for dipping or spreading.
- Avocados
- Lime Juice
- Red Onion
- Tomato
- Garlic Powder
All you have to do is dice the avocados, red onion and tomato. Place them all in a bowl, add lime juice, garlic powder and salt. Mix ‘er up and viola!
But before I let you run wile, I have a couple avocado tricks I have to share with ya’ll!
- Make sure to plan ahead. You won’t always be able to find ripened avocados at the grocery store. I buy mine 3 days in advance and put them in a brown paper bag to ripen. I also place the bag in a dark spot, like a cupboard. When it’s time to make the guac, they are perfect and ready to go!
- Use press and seal plastic wrap to save a sliced avo. No joke you guys, it works wonders! I also use the avocado saver and that works well, but if you need more than one or have a bowl, like this. Press & Seal all the way!
I love this guac recipe because it’s so versatile. I had it with chips the first day. Then I used the rest on lettuce wraps, a turkey burger, eggs and veggies. (Yes, it lasted that long!)
You can make it however you like – chunky, smooth, spicy or mild – just add a little extra of this or a little less of that! This recipe is fool proof! 💯
Now onto the pico de gallo!
Best part?! Practically the same ingredients!!
- Tomato
- Lime
- Red Onion
- Jalapeno
- Cilantro
We just got a boat load of tomatoes from my uncle’s garden, so I know what I’ll be making a lot of this weekend 😏 (this and my BLT Collard Wraps.)
I have to warn you this recipe has a little kick. It might make your nose run, but it’ll be sure boost your metabolism! 😉
This one’s just as simple. Dice up all the ingredients, throw it into a bowl and chow down!!It’s light, zesty and delicious!
If you’re looking for the perfect snack to bring to a tailgate or party, these two are your winners! Minimal ingredients, little to no prep and can be mixed up in under 15 minutes!
