The infamous Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’s a go-to for get togethers, but might not be the healthiest app to fill your entire plate with. But look no further, this Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip is simple, uses better-for-you ingredients and will still be a crowd pleaser!
Dust off those crockpots and get game-day ready with this irresistibly delicious dish!
Hiii friends!! I can’t believe we are closing out January already! Which means Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner and I have the perfect dip for you to bring along to share with all your friends and family!
I actually don’t get into professional football. 🤷🏻♀️ But if there’s a party with food, I’m there 😎 Buffalo Chicken Dip is always among the spread of goodies and if you’re anything like me and my friends, it’s the dip you hover over all night!
There’s just something about that hot and spicy app that draws the people in. Luckily for you, you can whip up this healthier version and eat it all night, guilt free!
Buffalo Chicken Ingredients
- shredded chicken
- greek cream cheese
- plain greek yogurt
- buffalo sauce (I use Franks Buffalo Sauce)
- Cheddar cheese (optional)
5 ingredients. That’s it. You can shred chicken yourself or if you’re feeling lazy (it’s okay, me too), just buy the canned chicken. I usually get Swanson brand, although I found this organic canned chicken from Aldi (Simply Nature brand) that I used instead.
Greek cream cheese is my favorite healthier substitution. I buy Franklin Foods and it’s overall better for you – less calories, less fat and 4x more protein, plus it tastes just like the real thing!
Now onto what to dip!

- Chips
- Celery
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Broccoli

You know that veggie tray that goes untouched at the party? Those green goodies are the perfect vehicle for this Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’s like you’re practically eating a salad!
How to Make Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip
4 easy steps:
- Turn your crockpot on high.
- Place all the ingredients in the crockpot. (It’s best if the cream cheese is already softened)
- Stir occasionally until dip starts to bubble and is hot.
- Turn crockpot to low and enjoy!
Now that’s my kind of appetizer!
If you’re transporting or want the app to be hot right away, mix the ingredients into a large glass bowl first (I use a hand mixer to combine everything) and then heat it in the microwave in 45 second intervals, stirring occasionally, until it gets hot. Then spoon the dip into the crockpot, set it to low and you’re good to go!
This recipe fits in my small crockpot, perfect for dips! If you’re wanting to make it for a bigger crowd, just double or triple the recipe. It saves well in the fridge, and no one will be complaining if you have leftovers!
In fact, it would be the perfect afternoon snack with some veggies since it’s protein packed – perfect for those of you on the Keto diet!
